Rep. Pavlov presents check to City of Marysville for water filtration plant upgrades
RELEASE|March 11, 2026

State Rep. Joseph Pavlov recently presented an honorary check to Marysville officials recognizing state funding secured to support critical upgrades to the city’s water filtration plant along the St. Clair River.

The project, funded through a state grant secured by Rep. Pavlov during the previous state budget cycle, will help address structural deterioration at the Marysville Water Filtration Plant and reinforce the surrounding seawall to prevent potential failure. Local officials had warned that without action, portions of the facility faced significant structural risks.

“Infrastructure like this often operates quietly behind the scenes, but it plays a vital role in the daily lives of our communities,” said Pavlov (R-Smiths Creek). “Working with former City Manager Randy Fernandez, current City Manager Quinton Bishop, and the Marysville administrative team, we were able to bring this issue to Lansing and secure the support needed to protect this critical facility.”

The improvements will help ensure safe and reliable drinking water for residents, schools, fire departments, municipal buildings, and local businesses throughout the Marysville area.

Pavlov presented the check to the city’s mayor, city manager, and administrative team during a recent meeting in recognition of the project and the collaboration that helped bring the funding to fruition.
